She came and licked my face to say sorry. I am still eating kibble and she is lying down watching me. The humans made a fuss over me and she knows she went a bit overboard.

Stuff about me and my sister who has now gone OTRB and then more about me. I am a standard poodle living in Cape Town. It is all about the Poodle!

Our humans took us walking when we went to Laingsburg last weekend. Laingsburg is a small town/village in the Karoo with not much in it. The Karoo is a large area with not much in it either.
It was my first time climbing up rocks. My sister Mia is smaller and lighter than me and she climbs like a mountain goat. My humans had to take me up a more gentle slope.
We climbed up a Koppie. In the language our humans speak, this means a small head, or a hill. Which is strange. Because I have now climbed up a head.
But it is was fun and there were lots of interesting smells. And huge piles of poo from either bokkies or dassies. And there were bones lying around which is very thoughtful for Poodle climbers.
When we got to the top, we needed to rest. Then we went home.

Babette and Mia rest on the ridge between 2 koppies, Laingsburg. First time hill-walking for Babette. Mia was a mountain goat in a previous life...
Probably the humans were all at those large buildings where they go in empty handed and walk out with food.
This sign tells the humans not to swim but there were lots of humans in long rubber bags standing on things and moving with the waves. Isn't that swimming?

We are waiting for Mia and her mom. Apparently we are all going on a roadtrip!

Then we realised it was she. And we both went bananas and made other people smile and laugh as they watched us welcome our human home.

As we had stopped to pose for yet another photo, I decided to clean my sister's face.

Such are the perks of being the older sister.

Until that happens we will chase each other when let off leash on an open and empty field.

Our coats prefer cooler weather but the heat makes us want to walk on wet sand to cool our paws and we try to dash into the surf if he isn't watching..,
