Izabellas is Poodle friendly!

What a treat! Today we went walkies with three of our humans! We love it when our human pack come with us but we do have to look back and check often to make sure they are keeping up and following our lead. If humans had four legs they would find it easier to make Poodle pace.

The humans decided that they needed some of their water and funny kibble and we went to a place called Izabella's. It is in Eden on the Bay, which we walk past every day - so at least it's familiar to us. The humans at Izabella's were only to happy for us to sit and watch the humanlets running around. They even brought us a bowl of fresh water. If you want to call Izabella's, their number is 021 554 9650. We love pet friendly and especially dog friendly places!

From a canine point of view, Izabella's is situated next to the humanlet play area, so there is plenty to watch, listen to and smell. We are welcome and given fresh water, which is just what we need mid walk. For the humans, there are so many yummy smells to choose from but of course, their food is only for Poodle tasting when they are not looking...

Our humans go on about how yummy the kibble cake is at Izabella's. Maybe you should take your canine with and eat cake and coffee!

Eden Cafe - Eden on the Bay

Dog friendly venue alert! If you can persuade your walking humans to take you to the Bloubergstrand beaches, you must visit the Big Bay area. After you've had a lovely walk on the endless beaches (which have lots of dunes to explore and things to sniff at), your humans can visit Eden Cafe for something called coffee (apparently us canines can't drink that stuff). They also provide food for walking humans - a treat if you like, for taking us dogs for a walk.

The best is that they have these bright blue water bowls, specially for quadrupeds. Will they serve us food too I wonder?

This is the view from the promenade restaurants at Eden on the Bay. Poodle picture perfect.

We think Eden on the Bay is Poodletastic!

Il Mare Salato. 021 553 5415

Another local pet-friendly restaurant where I can sit with humans while they eat is Il Mare Salato. I often get my own water bowl when we go to this restaurant. They make things called pizza which seem to be popular with all humans and especially the younger ones. Some of the younger humans I want to bark at and I have to be on my best behaviour when we eat out! I can also watch people and dogs walking on the grass and beach, which I enjoy.

Il Mare Salato is next to Eastern Fusion on Beach Road, Melkbosstrand. Follow 6th Ave to the beach and turn left at the end. Oh, that's me and my human, Jacques about to walk past the restaurant in this photo!

Eastern Fusion, Melkbosstrand. 021 553 4831

This local restaurant is a favourite of ours; and it's pet-friendly. Not only am I allowed to sit at the outside tables but the staff generally make a fuss over me. There is a lovely lady there who really loves me to bits and always gives me a big cuddle.

The humans also like eating here and seem to enjoy the sunset over the ocean a lot. Not so much doggie kibble for them, but stuff called sushi and noodles and other lovely, tasty looking things that I would just love to sink my Poodle teeth into.

We walk past Eastern Fusion on our walks around Melkbosstrand but if any human wants to get there, follow 6th Ave towards the beach and turn left at the end. 6th Ave is the crossroads with the traffic light in the centre of town.

Cappello Restaurant, Eden On The Bay.

UPDATE: Apparently the angry or disappointed humans that commented here have been in the majority, as this place is now closed. Even our humans stopped going there due to the bad service for humans. Was fine for us dogs though!

Last Saturday, during our regular beach walk in the afternoon, it started to really pour down. This isn't the first time we've been caught in the rain. As we have nice thick coats that are pretty water resistant, Mia and I really don't mind it when it rains but our human pack don't seem to fare so well for some reason.

Before we really got soaked, we made it to Eden On The Bay, the new shopping centre and apartments that have been built in Bloubergstrand's Big Bay. We walked around a bit and finally stopped near an open door watching the pouring rain. After a minute or two, we were asked to come and sit inside Cappello Big Bay, an Italian style restaurant. The nice gentleman that offered us a seat in the warmth said that they are dog friendly!

How lucky for us Poodles and our human pack! In the future, we'll make sure we visit the nice man and his pet-friendly establishment in the future.

The photo is of Eden On The Bay taken as you come off the beach. Cappello is at the very left side, ground floor (with amazing views of Cape Town and Table Mountain).
