Mia's mom decided that we needed our hair cuts this morning. We went from teddy bears to très chic. We will not be so hot on our walks as we move into spring. And we will get less risotto on our muzzles.

Parlour day again!
We are waiting patiently to get our cut and dry. There is a fluffy semi-doglet inside that wants to come out with its humans!

Parlour day again!
Mia's human decided that we were both a bit scraggly and she took us to Wags and Whiskers for a wash, cut and dry. I really was soooo not in the mood to go today, especially with no apparent warning.
To offset the trauma of the parlour, I managed to get my walking human to give us a second walk today. I did this by making 'the face'. This neat trick allows us to change our Poodle expressions from joy to disappointment in a couple of seconds - just long enough to make the humans feel guilty.
Mia's human had already taken us for a walk after the parlour, so I did 'the face' when my human got back from work and we got another walk. Poodles rule the roost!

We went to Wags and Whiskers today
Today was parlour day. We were dropped off at Wags and Whiskers in Parklands at 8:30 and were done by mid day. Unfortunately our driving human couldn't come and fetch us when Elaine sent the SMS to say we were ready and Babette couldn't hold her poo any longer and then she made a poo and then they had to wash and dry her bum! When the driving human arrived I was very excited and I jumped up and down and then Elaine showed the driving human a HUGE black boy Spoo called 'Max' and he was just as crazy as me and he told me I was a really sexy chick and he jumped up and down too.
Then Babette came out and we went to the car and I wouldn't go in the back so we both sat in the front and then we got home and I sat in the human driver's seat and then he took these photos.
Now we are tired and will sleep a bit.

Parlour day at Wags and Whiskers
Yesterday we were dropped off very early at Wags and Whiskers, our current beauty spa. It's in a place called Parklands and is run by Anna-Marie and Elaine. We were there quite a while this time but they paid us extra special attention and worked hard to make our hairdo's as close to the picture as possible in the little book our humans have.
The only problem with going to the parlour is that our humans tend not to let us run off leash on the beach for a week or so. We can't work out why they would do that, can you?

Two Lamb Cuts, please.
Yesterday was parlour day. We were dropped off at Wags and Whiskers again. Mia was very keen to have her hair done but I wasn't. I tried to get the human to take me away but the lady from the parlour dragged me to the back. Anyway, we look quite cute and the humans reckon it was worth the pain and suffering.Babette

Parlour day at Wags and Whiskers
It's easy for us to tell when it's parlour day because we get put in the back of the human's work car. Being Poodles, we really prefer being ferried around in a 2 or 4 door family car but at least the van is made in Europe (possibly in France even!).
Today, we went to a different parlour from the usual one. This time we got dropped off at Wags and Whiskers in Parklands. It's quite nice and spacious and the humans there are very friendly.
Poodles coming back from the parlour really need the correct accessories around to complement the radiant Poodleness we exude, so next time we hope that we get dropped off in the van but collected in the Mercedes so that everyone behind us on the road can see just how happy and pretty we are!

Shorn; like a sheep

We were dropped at the parlour yesterday and were there for 7 hours! What's up with the parlour and these long sessions? Anyway, the humans were a bit taken aback when we came out looking this this, my human mom especially... It seems our leg fur was a bit matted and so the best course of action was to shave it off.
You can see our skinny leggies. And check out my sparkly eyes! And check my puffy ears!
The walking human seems to think this hairdo is better for beach walks, especially with the warmer weather coming and our tendency to dash into the sea. Winter isn't quite over so we'll need to curl into tight Poodle sleeping balls for a week or so.

After: a long time after

The parlour was a bit hectic today. Despite having booked the girls in, it seems they were down a few hands, so the girls were there most of the day. There is also the minor accident that happened when someone got poo on themselves because someone else pood, and had to be rewashed and dried. Methinks perhaps this contributed to the delay somewhat..
Both of them were overjoyed to be collected; mostly glad to be free and away from all the pulling, tugging, blowing and handling. We walked on the main promenade for some toilet relief and a quick walk. Two passers by commented how beautiful they were and a guy cleaning the road asked he could have one.
Taking photos while they are in this post-parlour excited state is difficult to say the least. I was hoping for a nice shot on the dune vegetation with the sea or Table mountain in the background but these will have to suffice.
Burgess (today's useful parlour drop and collect human).
Before: it's time for a walk, isn't it?

Today the girls are going in for a wash and cut. When the harnesses and leashes come out there is always great excitement in anticipation of a walk and this morning was no different. The girls will stay by the door, patiently waiting and acting as a visual reminder that we are about to embark on a walk.
Different story when we arrived at the parlour. Not so quick to leave the car and not so keen to be taken by the man into the back of the shop....
Photo taken on the way out this morning.

Smile Babette, You're on Candid Camera!

I rarely get to post on OUR blog, so I'll make up for lost time by posting this photo of my sister while she's having her hair done. She will kill me when she finds out I've put this on the net because she's very particular about how she looks, being an ex model.

Pooches, post parlour

Well, this is Mia (on the chair) and I, after the parlour today. The photo was taken this evening when my humans came to pick me up after they finished at gym. The lovely parlour people only put one ribbon in our hair - can you believe it? Must be something to do with what the humans refer to as 'recession'. Heck, I can type and use a computer but the concept of recession is beyond my Poodle brain :-)
We were dipped, combed, washed and dried and had our nails done. A real head to toe for us gals. In fact, so much so that the nice lady at the parlour suggested we come mid-week next time as we take so long.
Both of us are so happy to see everyone that the humans found it frustrating to take photos - we were moving around so much. Proof of Poodle happiness is evident in this photo where my tail is wagging so fast it's a blur!
