Is this a wind up toy?

This is my sister Babette on her walk this Tuesday (before we had our fur shaved off yesterday). She often comes across this little thing on her morning walks. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting one of these and I think it looks like a nice toy to play with. I see in this photo that Babette is doing her full-on 'play with me' routine - so it must be a toy that moves!

Mia

Shorn; like a sheep

We were dropped at the parlour yesterday and were there for 7 hours! What's up with the parlour and these long sessions? Anyway, the humans were a bit taken aback when we came out looking this this, my human mom especially... It seems our leg fur was a bit matted and so the best course of action was to shave it off.

You can see our skinny leggies. And check out my sparkly eyes! And check my puffy ears!

The walking human seems to think this hairdo is better for beach walks, especially with the warmer weather coming and our tendency to dash into the sea. Winter isn't quite over so we'll need to curl into tight Poodle sleeping balls for a week or so.

Mia

Are these long beaked chickens?

I found three of these on my morning weepoo walk today. I'm not normally very observant on my walks but these huge chicken things make a dreadful racket and are big enough to notice, even for an unobservant Poodle!

My human calls them a 'Hadeda'. I think my sister Mia would love to chase one of these.

Wintertime Lovin'

My sister and I have got that whole 'nuns in a convent' synchronised lady issues going on. Mia has suddenly discovered she can WOW boy doggies and here's a photo of Charlie the Worsie going gaga over the stunning French Poodle in his household. You can just spot my nose in the background as I check out the other two.

All I can say is that at the moment, our daily walks are a smorgasbord of lovely smells everywhere. All we seem to be able to pick up is boy doggies.

The broken plastic talking thingy

On Tuesday this week, there was a 'mishap' on our regular afternoon walk. As usual, Mia and I were trying to get the beach as quickly as possible; we are always so excited to be on a walk. As we approached the beach, our walking human twisted his paw on a rock in the sand and fell. I think we managed to drag him in the sand for a bit - kind of like our cousins the Husky dogs do in that funny white stuff.

The walking human then found that the little plastic talking thingy that is kept in a pocket was broken. He wasn't very happy. Mia and I stood there and looked at him with our Poodle faces, wondering why our beach walk had come to a sudden stop. The human was testing his paw to see if he could walk on it. Luckily for us, the paw was ok and we had a slow walk on the beach and back home.

What do those plastic talking things do anyway? I just know the walking human said something about not being able to take good quality photos or videos with the thingy goes away for a bit.

A hairy worm thing

I came across two interesting things on this morning's weepoo walk. The first was a dead dove, which looked like a C.A.T had done it's thing first. The second was this hairy worm thing on the road which I wanted to sniff but I wasn't allowed to get too close. I don't know why I couldn't sniff it because it looks kind of interesting to bite.

A morning walk!

This photo was taken a short while after the picture of Mia watching the doves. We were taken for a surprise early morning walk. Of course, at this time we are normally snoozing but seeing as the regular routine was already all over the place what with the humans getting up at 03:00 - why not go for a walk at sunrise?

You can see us admiring Cape Town's most famous landmark.

Can you spot the pigeon?

Not only is Mia a good guard dog but true to our lost Poodle heritage, she is intent on catching her own (flying) supper! The Wood Pigeons and doves eat our kibble, but only if they get past the every watchful eye of my sister. In this photo, can you spot the Poodle watching the bird?

We love to play with bouncy balls

The only problem with bouncy balls is that they move so quickly. Lucky us Poodles are quick off the mark too.

Winter at the beach

Deserted beaches are perfect for Poodle walks. This is the newly renamed Poodlestrand near Mia's house looking north. If you keep walking in that direction you'll reach Namibia. I think even a Poodle would get tired on that walk!

Big button nose!

Poodle Beach

We visit this beach every day and don't see why it shouldn't be renamed from Eerste Steen to Poodlestrand.
